Over the last quarter, P&G has made tremendous progress in the area of Palm Sustainability. Here is a summary of the progress to-date:
• RSPO Certification – P&G has announced that it is accelerating the pace of RSPO certification targets by 12 months and committed to be 100% RSPO certified for all palm usage in P&G Brands by the end of 2021. This acceleration was made possible by the close collaboration with key PKO and PKO derivative suppliers in a tight market.
• Transparency – P&G has recently published a Palm Grievance Tracker for the cases of non-compliance that were detected through an internal monitoring system and reported by external stakeholders to P&G in 2020. We will continue to publish updates to the Grievance Tracker three times a year. This further shows P&G’s commitment to transparency and builds on an already published palm suppliers and palm oil mill list.
• Force for Good – P&G recently announced a partnership with WWF-Malaysia to support conservation efforts centered on the Malayan Tiger within the Central Forest Spine in Peninsular Malaysia. Under this partnership, P&G committed to provide funding over a period of two years to support WWF-Malaysia's work to protect both tigers and their habitats. This is in line with WWF-Malaysia’s New Deal for Nature goal to target zero loss of natural habitats and zero extinction of species by 2030.
